Taking architects out to lunch...

There is a species in Romania called the young architect. When you think you found the youngest architect, you fail - she/he has a younger architect who does the (dirty) work. I got to call a dozen of young architects and they all wanted to meet me at the restaurant, claiming flexibility. I have paid for various meals, and I got in exchange: an email saying they're busy and cannot commit to my project anymore, some house plans with no windows for the bedrooms or NOTHING.

I have then switched to the old architects but this was even trickier: first question they ask is how many houses are you going to build/need their services for. Well asked, and after surving the initial shock, was able to answer that I build the only ONE house I dreamt of... The answer is that they do not work such a project, they are too experienced for only ONE house, and, stating the obvious, too BUSY.

I have finally got some quotations which I didn't afford (but I trust other people saying they were reasonable enough) hence I have started to learn a 3D modelling program myself. Didn't get into the advanced ones and I had troubles with trial versions expiring again and again, but I was able to finish my plans in 3 mos. I had still have to find an architect to validate and refine my work and I had my worst experience with an old man ever.
